August is Eat Local Month

August is Eat Local Month, and one of the best times of the year to shop at the Co-op! It’s peak season for many local farms, and every day we get fresh new produce, meats, cheeses, wines, craft beers, bakery items, and more right here in the store.

Eating local food is not only delicious, but it also boosts the economic prosperity of our community, economy, environment, and culture. We’ve partnered with NH Eats Local to promote locally produced food and connect people to farmers, food producers, farm stands, and other food-related businesses (like us!). Created and managed by the NH Food Alliance and its network, NH Eats Local is an excellent resource for information to find, support, and eat local food from the Seacoast to the North Country and beyond.

Here’s a list of our local vendors, or scroll to the bottom of the page to see our interactive online map!

Here are some of the other fun things happening here at the Co-op this August:

Fresh Local Specials & Savings

We work with local farmers & producers to bring you incredibly fresh deals and everyday savings on locally-produced items every week. Stock your pantry with the best ingredients the region has to offer! Be sure to check out our Weekly Ad in the paper to see what’s on sale this week, and grab a copy of our Weekly Flyer on your way in the door. You can also download a copy online!

Member Choice Awards Poster

First Annual Member Choice Awards

We’ve rounded up some of our favorite local items and put them to the vote! We’ll be announcing the results this August in a special episode of our podcast, That’s Rad!, all about local food.

Live Free & Eat Local Challenge

We’re partnering with @nheatslocal for the Live Free + Eat Local Challenge! Visit, dine, or shop at five local farm or food businesses this August for your chance to enter and win some great foodie prizes. You can enter online at nheatslocal.com.

Interactive Online Map

We’ve organized our vendors by product and department, and grouped them so you can see our who’s who within a ~100 mile radius of Littleton Co-op. We also mapped out a 25-mile radius in green so you can see all of the super-local farms and producers in our region! Click on the [ ] box in the top right corner to see a full size version of the map in a new page.
