Through our Partner of the Month Program, the Littleton Food Co-op sponsors a different local non-profit each month. All of our Partners are locally focused, socially and environmentally responsible, non-political, and secular.
Each year, our Members choose our Partners by popular vote. Voting will open online and in-store this year on September 19th. We have 10 months available for Partners, and 25 incredible candidate organizations to choose from. All Members are eligible to vote, and voting will be held online. When it’s time to vote, Members will receive an email with a unique code that allows them to access the online ballot. Members must be listed as the primary name on their Membership, and may only vote once per Member number.

Partner of the Month Fair: On Saturday, September 19th from 12-3 pm we’re hosting a Partner of the Month Fair. The twenty-five candidates will be at the Co-op for you to meet in person, ask questions, and learn about the important work they each do in our community. There will also be information about the remaining organizations available. Learn more about the POM Fair here.

Cast Your Vote
Voting will be open online and in-store from September 19 through October 2, 2026. All Littleton Co-op members are eligible to vote, but may only vote once per Member number. Only the primary Member may cast a vote, to prevent duplicate votes from different household members. Up to 10 organizations may be selected per ballot; ballots with more than 10 will be forfeited.

Ammonoosuc Conservation Trust (ACT)
Please describe some of the ways your organization has a positive impact on our community.
Ammonoosuc Conservation Trust strengthens New Hampshire’s North Country by protecting the farms, forests, waterways, wildlife habitat, scenic landscapes, and community places that define the region. Working with landowners and partners, ACT permanently conserves land for public benefit while supporting working landscapes, clean water, outdoor recreation, and healthy ecosystems. ACT also builds community connection through hikes, workshops, volunteer opportunities, trail work, stewardship, and family-friendly outdoor programs. Its conserved lands provide places for residents and visitors to walk, ski, snowshoe, hunt, observe wildlife, and learn about nature. Through conservation, education, stewardship, and partnerships, ACT helps sustain rural character, local identity, and lasting benefits for people, wildlife, and future generations across the North Country.
How will the funds be used?
Funds will support ACT’s ongoing work to protect and care for the lands people love in New Hampshire’s North Country. Donations may help cover both big and small conservation needs, from landowner outreach, project planning, mapping, legal and stewardship costs, and conservation easement monitoring to trail maintenance, volunteer supplies, educational programs, signs, and community events. These funds help ACT respond when landowners are ready to conserve farms, forests, waterways, wildlife habitat, and special community places. They also help ensure that conserved lands are cared for long after a project closes, through annual monitoring, habitat stewardship, public access improvements, and community engagement. Whether helping protect a large forest block, maintain a local trail, host a family-friendly outdoor program, or support volunteers in the field, this funding will create lasting benefits for people, wildlife, clean water, and future generations.
Bethlehem Boosters
Please describe some of the ways your organization has a positive impact on our community.
Bethlehem Boosters is a newly formed, volunteer-driven nonprofit dedicated to ensuring every child has the opportunity to participate in exceptional recreation programs, regardless of their family’s financial circumstances. Our mission is to enhance Bethlehem Recreation programs by helping remove financial barriers and providing resources that go beyond what the Town budget alone can support. As we grow, we aim to fund scholarships, equipment, transportation, field trips, and enrichment opportunities that make recreation programs more accessible, engaging, and impactful for local youth. Strong recreation programs help children build healthy habits, confidence, friendships, and a lifelong connection to their community. By investing in our children and families, we are helping build a stronger, healthier, and more connected North Country community.
How will the funds be used?
Every dollar donated will directly support local children and families through Bethlehem Recreation programs, creating benefits that strengthen our broader North Country community. As a newly formed nonprofit, these funds will help us begin fulfilling our mission of making recreation programs more accessible and enriching for every child. Donations may be used to provide financial assistance for program registration, purchase sports and recreation equipment, help cover transportation or field trip costs, and add educational and recreational opportunities to after-school and summer programs. Funds may also be used to enhance community events and activities that bring families together and create memorable experiences for local youth. Whether it’s helping one child participate in a program they otherwise couldn’t afford or providing equipment that benefits an entire team, every contribution helps create opportunities that will have a lasting impact.
Center for New Beginnings
Please describe some of the ways your organization has a positive impact on our community.
For forty years, the Center for New Beginnings has been part of the fabric of our community. It began in Littleton as a small counseling center for people affected by domestic violence and sexual assault. Today, it has grown into a place where children, teens, adults, and families can find comfort, guidance, and hope during some of life’s most difficult moments. Every day, the Center meets neighbors who are struggling with anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, relationship challenges, or other emotional burdens. It sees children and teens doing their best to navigate the pressures of our changing world. And they meet families who simply need someone to listen, to support them, and to remind them that they are not alone. The Center’s doors are open to the entire northern third of New Hampshire and nearby Vermont communities—but they never turn away someone willing to come to us for help.
How will the funds be used?
These funds would be used to support operations and to fund our sliding scale program. Money in the sliding scale fund allows us to support those clients who may have high deductibles or co-pays, making it difficult to pay for the mental health care that they need. Removing barriers to access to mental health care is critical to this community, and a sliding scale fund allows us to see clients without causing financial burden.
Colonel Town Players of Lancaster, Inc.
Please describe some of the ways your organization has a positive impact on our community.
Colonel Town Players unites different ages and backgrounds to share a stage or seat. It promotes social networks amongst each part of a community: the helpers, leaders, workers and neighbors. Their performances boost local spending by supporting small businesses through advertisements in our programs. They hire band members and directors from our community. Live theater fosters mental well-being. For a couple hours, their audiences are able to escape the exertions of our sometimes taxing world. CTP offers safe, creative spaces, preserves local culture and provides youth education. They have been supported by our community for over five decades and take pride in that. This December, they will perform a ‘Christmas in Coos’ Cabaret. In lieu of fix-priced tickets, they will have a “Pay-What-You-Can” performance. Patrons will name their own ticket price from $0 on. This will be their Christmas gift to our communities. Of course there will be donated Gingerbread cookies and hot chocolate as well!
How will the funds be used?
Some funding would be used to secure much needed permanent storage for our props, set pieces and various other show needs. We at CTP champion recycling and reuse. Having permanent storage would free up monthly rental fees. Funds could also help to purchase the rights to shows, or cover the expense of a live band. A project that we are hoping to complete within a year is replacement of at least twenty wireless microphone headsets. CTP has been in existence for 53 years and we have had our share of financial struggles to keep moving forward. With recent cutbacks in federal and state funding of the arts, we cautiously look forward to the future. Becoming a Partner of the Month would help us meet our goal of continued success in and for our community.
Connecticut Valley Equine Rescue and Sanctuary
Please describe some of the ways your organization has a positive impact on our community.
CVERS serves the Upper Valley and Connecticut Valley areas of Vermont and New Hampshire by providing safe, lifelong sanctuary for horses. They do not adopt out their horses to ensure they have a stable, loving and healthy environment for their entire lives. They rehabilitate horses who have permanent/chronic health conditions and specialize in senior horse care. CVERS helps horse owners who have become financially or physically unable to care for their horses and fulfill their ultimate promises to their horses by ensuring they have a loving home for their lives. Their facility also serves as a safe, supportive environment for people of all ages to come enjoy horses and nature. Horses are known for their therapeutic benefits. While horses heal, our horses also heal people!
How will the funds be used?
We use all funds to continue to provide top feed, vet and all around care for the horses. Our current goal is to raise funds to improve pasture fencing and shelters.
Coos Coalition for Young Children
Please describe some of the ways your organization has a positive impact on our community.
The Coös Coalition for Young Children and Families brings schools, health care providers, family resource centers, early childhood programs, and community partners together to improve outcomes for children from birth through age eight and their families across northern New Hampshire. Their work strengthens kindergarten transitions, expands developmental screening, supports social-emotional learning, and connects families to coordinated resources before challenges become crises. They also help communities address gaps in behavioral health, childcare, transportation, and family support through collaborative planning and locally designed solutions. In the Littleton area, their Early Childhood Connections workgroup brings together local schools, childcare programs, Head Start, and other partners to support smoother transitions into kindergarten and stronger connections among families and providers.
How will the funds be used?
Partner of the Month funds would support practical, community-based activities that directly benefit young children, families, and the local organizations that serve them. Funds may be used for family outreach materials, developmental screening resources, kindergarten transition events, parent and caregiver engagement, professional learning for early childhood providers, and supplies for regional workgroups and community gatherings. Donations could also help cover small but meaningful needs such as printing family-friendly resource guides, meeting materials, mileage for rural outreach, and participation supports that make it easier for families and providers to take part. Flexible local funding is especially valuable in a rural region because it allows the Coalition to respond quickly to emerging needs, strengthen partnerships, and fill gaps that larger grants may not cover. Every contribution would help improve coordination, access, and support for families with young children.
Copper Cannon Camp
Please describe some of the ways your organization has a positive impact on our community.
Finishing the summer, Copper Cannon Camp has served 400 plus young people at no charge! Over the last two summers, more than 60 youth from our community alone had a chance to benefit from Copper Cannon. Every child deserves to have the summer camp experience, regardless of their financial or family situation. There are life-changing opportunities unique to a summer camp setting – things that otherwise might not be experienced, learned or realized at home or school. Camp is more than just a week of simple activities. It offers a chance to build social skills, try new things, and participate in enrichment activities. The Copper Cannon’s short term, intermediate and long-term goals are threefold: physical, social and cognitive. Campers are challenged to increase physical activity and improve their understanding of the benefits of exercise. Socially campers experience a community where positive or pro-social skills are taught and reinforced throughout each day.
How will the funds be used?
Support from the Partner of the Month will be one part of our funding to keep Copper Cannon a free summer camp to New Hampshire’s underserved population. Providing a free summer camp does cost money. An absence of tuition fees at Copper Cannon results in a unique breakdown of revenue. Funding sources include three annual events. Our auction, annual appeal, and membership drive help support operating costs. Other sources include the USDA-Summer Food Service Program, New Hampshire Elks and rentals to community and school groups. These funds help cover many of the fixed costs associated with the operation of camp. We have become a magnet for individual and corporate volunteers and donors.
Friends of Littleton Public Library
Please describe some of the ways your organization has a positive impact on our community.
The Friends of Littleton Public Library (FOLPL) was formed in 2006 for charitable, literary, and educational purposes as well as to encourage and maintain a membership that is supportive of the Littleton Public Library. FOLPL’s goal is to stimulate greater interest in and use of the library by supporting library programs that provide outreach to the community. The Littleton Public Library serves all ages as an invaluable community resource. The FOLPL helps the library to have a robust outreach program in providing extra funding for special programs as well as volunteer and project support and advocacy. Having a vibrant “Friends” organization also helps the library by demonstrating tangible community support when applying for grant opportunities.
How will the funds be used?
Because of generous donors and sponsors like you, we have been able to fund the library downloadable book program (Libby) and annual passes to local museums and other attractions for library patrons to use free of charge. The FOLPL provides incentives and prizes from local merchants as well as support for the library summer reading program for children and adults, which has doubled in participation just in the last year!! Our organization also provides funding to support for other library activities such as the library’s new teen space, as well as many of the other library programs and seasonal activities. In the past, the FOLPL bought a telescope for the library to loan to library patrons, new computers and computer workstations in the media room, as well as a new server for the library. We have also purchased furnishings for the new adult reading & study space in the old stacks downstairs. Funds raised with the Partner of the Month helps us to continue these efforts.
Littleton Community Center
Please describe some of the ways your organization has a positive impact on our community.
A gathering place which welcomes all, the Littleton Community Center offers affordable meeting space for community members and groups, with discounted or free use to nonprofit organizations, with particular outreach to groups representing underserved populations. Serving the community since 1919, this 15-room Queen Anne-style Victorian home was built in 1884 as a residence for timber baron Charles F. Eastman. The matching carriage barn makes this the only grand house/barn dyad remaining in Littleton. With its elegant interior finishes, the National Historic Register property is in very good condition. The beautiful mansion is used for a variety of purposes including town meetings, family celebrations, community events, workshops, club meetings, support groups, and youth activities.
How will the funds be used?
The matching carriage barn was moisture damaged and closed in 2011. A capital project is in progress to rehabilitate the barn into a meeting and performance space holding 50 to 100, which will be the only public meeting space of its size in Littleton, once restored. A public listening session directed this be used for the community, including for large family gatherings. The building will have a caterer’s kitchen, restrooms, and will be versatile use, including table/chair setups. Docent-guided historic tours are being developed to offer visitors and residents a look inside these heritage Littleton buildings.
Littleton Fire & Rescue Eureka Hose Co. #2
Please describe some of the ways your organization has a positive impact on our community.
Littleton Fire & Rescue plays a vital role in the safety, health, and well-being of our community. The department responds to fires, medical emergencies, motor vehicle accidents, rescues, and other critical situations, providing help and reassurance when our residents need it most. Beyond emergency response, Littleton Fire & Rescue is deeply committed to prevention, education, and community service. Through fire prevention programs, public education, safety outreach, and participation in community events, the members work to build relationships, increase awareness, and help keep area residents safe. They proudly serve people of all ages throughout Littleton – from children and families to the senior population – and are committed to being a dependable resource for our community. Whether responding during someone’s most difficult moments or working proactively to prevent emergencies, Littleton Fire & Rescue is dedicated to protecting and serving the people who live, work and visit our community.
How will the funds be used?
Funds raised through the Round-Up program would help Littleton Fire & Rescue continue supporting both our firefighters and the community we proudly serve. Contributions may be used to assist members of our fire department and their families during times of unexpected hardship, such as an injury, serious illness, or other difficult life circumstances. Funds also help support community-focused programs and charitable efforts in which our department participates. One example is our Pink Patch Project, which raises awareness and funds in support of breast cancer initiatives within our local community. Donations help us purchase the patches and materials needed to continue this meaningful effort and raise additional funds for the cause. Whether helping a firefighter and family through a difficult time or supporting an important local cause, every contribution – large or small – allows us to give back to the community that continually supports us.
North Country Alliance for Balanced Change
Please describe some of the ways your organization has a positive impact on our community.
NCABC works in the North Country and statewide to protect the environment, public health and community well-being by: challenging an unneeded new landfill proposed to be built in rural Dalton, NH; educating and empowering the public to participate in NH’s waste management decisions by advocating for smarter, safer waste management; raise awareness about the negative impact on our health and environment from leachate, a by-product of landfills; collaborate with a wide circle of officials and conservation groups throughout the North Country. NCABC ended their seventh year of preventing the siting of a new landfill. Equally important, their neighbors are now talking about recycling efforts, eliminating single-use products, and the impact of out-of-state trash on our environment. Through their social media and advocacy efforts, they see more people taking steps to protect our natural resources.
How will the funds be used?
NCABC recently surveyed our nearly 2200 supporters as part of our strategic planning process. Respondents viewed NCABC positively, highlighting strengths in effective public communication, environmental advocacy and protection, and ability to build coalitions. Looking to the future, the leading response for growth was in the area of community outreach and education. NCABC is committed to educating and empowering community members and local officials around areas of natural resource protection. We seek to expand our awareness campaign, sharing information on topics such as PFAS, food composting, recycling, and water quality. Funds from the POM program would be used to support informational mailers, host tabling events, promote social media posts, and sponsor speaker events. These efforts align with our mission to inform and empower action for environmental and community vitality. Simple actions taken by individuals and small groups do make a difference!
North Country Health Consortium
Please describe some of the ways your organization has a positive impact on our community.
North Country Health Consortium has worked alongside North Country communities since 1997 to improve health and wellbeing across our region. Their work touches people at every stage of life—from supporting families during pregnancy and postpartum through DoulaConnect, to helping young people build healthy futures, connecting individuals to care and recovery resources, strengthening our rural healthcare workforce, and preparing communities for public health emergencies. Just as importantly, NCHC brings people together. They partner with local hospitals, schools, municipalities, nonprofits, healthcare providers, and community members to identify challenges and develop solutions that reflect the unique needs of rural Northern New Hampshire. Some of their work is highly visible, while much of it happens behind the scenes. In both cases, their goal is the same: to help build healthier, more connected, and more resilient North Country communities.
How will the funds be used?
Much of NCHC’s work is grant funded, but those dollars are restricted to specific, approved expenses. Partner of the Month funds would provide something equally important: flexibility to respond to real community needs that don’t always fit neatly into a grant budget. That could mean helping provide baby supplies or resources for a new parent, removing a transportation barrier for someone trying to access care, purchasing educational or outreach materials, providing food or refreshments that make a community gathering possible, or responding to an unexpected need when no other funding source is available. These may seem like small things, but sometimes they are exactly what allows someone to participate, access support, or feel cared for. Every dollar raised would stay here in the North Country, helping NCHC say “yes” when our community needs us in ways restricted funding cannot.
North Country Kitchen Collective
Please describe some of the ways your organization has a positive impact on our community.
NCKC is building out a certified, shared commercial kitchen that will provide North Country Food Entrepreneurs with affordable space to bring their food and beverage products to the public. Currently, many entrepreneurs work under a cottage license, which doesn’t allow them to sell their products to restaurants or grocery stores. The Shared Commercial Kitchen will open up so many doors for these entrepreneurs, allowing them to grow their business.
How will the funds be used?
Expand resources available to the businesses, like business planning, certifications, and event opportunities to showcase their food and beverage products.
North Country Peer Support Center
Please describe some of the ways your organization has a positive impact on our community.
The North Country Peer Support Center is a welcoming, inclusive resource that strengthens the health and well-being of our communities. Through peer support, recovery services, wellness programming, and community outreach, they help individuals experiencing mental health and substance use challenges build hope, resilience, and meaningful connections. Their Berlin location is also home to the community soup kitchen, ensuring neighbors have access to nutritious meals in a welcoming environment. During the winter months, the Centers serve as a daytime warming space for individuals experiencing homelessness or housing instability; offering safety, compassion, and connection to additional resources. By partnering with local organizations and businesses, they reduce isolation, improve access to essential services, and foster a stronger, more caring North Country where everyone has the opportunity to recover, belong, and thrive.
How will the funds be used?
While grant funding supports many of our core peer support services, it does not cover all of the operational expenses required to meet the needs of our community. Funds from this grant will help offset essential costs such as utilities, facility operations, program supplies, and other expenses that keep our centers welcoming and accessible. This flexible support also helps sustain our evening Warm Line; providing a compassionate, non-crisis listening service for community members who need connection, encouragement, and hope outside of regular business hours. These unrestricted funds allow us to respond to emerging community needs while maintaining the safe, supportive environment our participants rely on every day in Littleton, Conway, Berlin, and Groveton.
North Country Pride
Please describe some of the ways your organization has a positive impact on our community.
NCP is committed to making the North Country of NH and VT a welcoming place for all! They host events throughout the year that bring the LGBTQIA+ community and allies together for many different activities and they are planning to host our third annual Pride Festival in June 2027!
How will the funds be used?
Some of the funds will be allocated to Pride Fest in 2027 and we would like to use the remainder to host additional events throughout the year of more variety (and possibly pay artists or makers to teach workshops).
Sunnybrook Montessori School
Please describe some of the ways your organization has a positive impact on our community.
For more than 50 years, Sunnybrook Montessori School has served several generations of children and families in Lancaster and the surrounding communities. As a nonprofit preschool, they provide a nurturing, child-centered environment where children build a strong foundation for lifelong learning through play, exploration, creativity, and meaningful relationships. Their mixed-age program fosters independence, confidence, empathy, and problem-solving skills while preparing children for success in school and beyond.
How will the funds be used?
Donations may be used to purchase hands-on STEM and classroom learning materials, support enriching educational experiences, or help us invest in and retain the dedicated early childhood educators who make our program possible. Funds may also provide tuition assistance for local families, helping make high-quality early childhood education more accessible to children in our community. Every dollar directly benefits the children and families we serve and helps ensure Sunnybrook continues to provide a nurturing, engaging learning environment where every child can thrive.
The Burch House
Please describe some of the ways your organization has a positive impact on our community.
The Burch House serves as an emergency women’s and children’s shelter. On an annual basis, the majority of women and women with children served come from the Littleton or Bethlehem communities and the surrounding area. While at the shelter, participants enjoy a safe and secure environment and onsite individualized housing case management. The program’s goal is for all participants to access the benefits and services they need to enter into and maintain stable and sustainable housing once they leave our shelter.
How will the funds be used?
Donation funds go a long way to filling funding gaps. These funds can be used to support giving shelter participants access to what they need. This can include providing household supplies for participant use, but also accessing specific food items when needs or gaps arise. Funds such as these allow us to be swift and responsive to the needs of the program and its participants.
The Frost Place
Please describe some of the ways your organization has a positive impact on our community.
The Frost Place was founded in 1976, with the vision of preserving the historic farmhouse where Robert Frost lived and worked during some of his most prolific years. Today it is both a historic house museum and a center for poetry and the arts in Franconia, New Hampshire. The farmhouse is listed on the National Register of Historic Places to safeguard a piece of American history, creating a lasting tribute to one of the country’s most celebrated poets. What began as a local preservation effort has matured into a nationally recognized gathering place for history lovers, poets, educators, and lifelong learners.
How will the funds be used?
Funds will be used to preserve Robert Frost’s former homestead and run the Frost Place’s museum and poetry programs.
The Loading Dock
Please describe some of the ways your organization has a positive impact on our community.
Bringing together contemporary arts and music community for intimate live shows and arts experiences. They focus on under 21 positive youth development through the Arts. Connecting artists and musicians together and creating a scene around personal expression and embrace the community members that struggle to fit in.
How will the funds be used?
We offer a number of monthly events that are free. Donations will help keep those going into the future.
Veterans2Veterans Group
Please describe some of the ways your organization has a positive impact on our community.
V2VG supports the local community through their Direct-Aid Charity Model, in that they support the financial needs of their clients and do so typically in a matter of days after receiving a request for support. Additionally, their Retail Wing offers medical items and supplies to anyone in the community, free of charge!
How will the funds be used?
Partner of the Month Funds will be used to support such projects as our North Country Veterans Eye Care Program that we run in partnership with Hometown Eye Care of Littleton and Lancaster along with many other direct aid requests for assistance.
White Horse Recovery
Please describe some of the ways your organization has a positive impact on our community.
White Horse Recovery empowers individuals, families, and communities impacted by substance use disorder and mental health to thrive and find holistic wellness. In Littleton, they offer drop-in services including shower, laundry, supplies for basic needs, and a non-judgmental space for connection. Their trained recovery coaches work with individuals and family members to create and make progress on a recovery plan. Finally, they offer recovery groups and activities, creating a space for connection.
How will the funds be used?
These funds will be used to support our ongoing services. For example: $2 will cover the cost of laundry for one individual, $5 will cover transporting a participant to an important appointment in town in Littleton, $11 will cover a brief basic needs assessment with a staff member, $35 will give a month of cell phone service to a participant working on regaining employment, $100 will cover a weekly recovery planning session, and $500 will cover a month of services for one participant who is making progress on recovery goals.
White Mountain Science Inc.
Please describe some of the ways your organization has a positive impact on our community.
WMSI ignites students’ excitement for STEAM learning and equips teachers to bring it into their classrooms across Northern New England. Their goal is to nurture curiosity, encourage students to ask questions, and foster collaboration in the classroom, ultimately empowering learners to become creative problem solvers.
How will the funds be used?
Donor support helps sustain and grow WMSI’s STEAM programming for in-school and after-school projects, teacher coaching, onsite camps, and Makerspace use! We love partnering with communities across Northern New England to bring STEAM experiences into classrooms and offer a space with state-of-the-art machinery for students and adults alike.
Willing Workers Society of Sugar Hill
Please describe some of the ways your organization has a positive impact on our community.
Founded in 1920, the Willing Workers have a long history of fostering a spirit of helpfulness in our communities. Their annual monetary donations support worthy nonprofit organizations serving our communities. The causes they support include food insecurity, homelessness, education, health and welfare of children and families, conservation of the environment, senior citizens, and animal rescue. In addition to their monetary donations, since 2020, we have purchased and delivered milk to the local food panties. This free milk program is an ongoing initiative dependent upon available funds. Additionally, since 1987, the Willing Workers have awarded over $85,000 in scholarships to qualifying high school seniors pursuing higher education.
How will the funds be used?
Any funds we may receive will be used to support local community programs such as our free milk deliveries to food pantries and our annual donations to local nonprofit organizations.
Woodland Community School
Please describe some of the ways your organization has a positive impact on our community.
During the school year Woodland Community School provides a dynamic model for child-centered education rooted in the White Mountains. They empower children by placing them at the center of our learning community, cultivating their respect for self and others, and inspiring an appreciation of the natural world. Students and staff engage in learning with local businesses including WMSI, the Studio School and North Country Radio, and give back to the community through service such as preparing dishes for Bethlehem Community Dinners and helping with farm chores at Meadowstone Farm. During the summer Woodland Community School provides an engaging nature-based summer program for children of all backgrounds and types of schooling. Children have time for nature free play, science exploration, choice activities and field trips that explore the culture and natural areas of the North Country.
How will the funds be used?
Funds from partner of the month will support teacher and summer facilitator professional development, allow for continued school program connections within the broader community, provide opportunities for staff to bring local experts to the classroom, complete the much needed wood floor for our “big tent” where students participate in large maker projects (e.g. woodworking), host plays, and gather for school-wide events, and continue the rehabilitation of the stream bank that has been taken over by invasive knotweed.
WREN (Women’s Rural Entrepreneurial Network)
Please describe some of the ways your organization has a positive impact on our community.
A resilient and inclusive community organization, WREN is proud to be a meaningful partner in our North Country community, creating and supporting economic, and cultural opportunities for rural people, and building equity. They support our local economy and our local entrepreneurs in their Main Street shop, which provides market access for 130+ local artists and makers; they support small businesses via the CDBG grant program, by hosting business classes, and by facilitating networking summits; they support wellness for local seniors with our WRENegades program, which provides fun and free activities where seniors can connect, combating social isolation; and they provide accessible arts experiences to all in our state of the art gallery. They’re grateful to partner with local businesses and organizations to provide programming, and look forward to nurturing our community for many years to come.
How will the funds be used?
Funds support WREN’s mission driven work: supporting better lives and livelihoods through education, economic development, and community engagement in the North Country. Donations help us keep our WRENegades program free of charge; they support gallery programming, including free admission 7 days a week; they even help us keep our 100+-year-old building in good repair! Donations help make our good work possible.
